What are peripherals?
A peripheral is a computer device that is not part of the
essential computer; any external device that provides input and output for the
computer such as a keyboard, mouse, scanner, printer etc.
Peripherals can either be external devices or internal such as
CD-ROM which could also be known as integrated peripherals, but they are mainly
known as external hardware devices which are connected to the motherboard and
provides I/O (input output) to and from the system through the
